My sequence is HDV720p at 23.976fps. Outputting using the Vimeo SD H264 setting at 23.976, just to show to clients.

It’s somewhat encouraging to hear that I’m not the only one with this problem, thanks for your feedback.

Well, restarted my machine and tried again, and it worked fine. But I’d still like to know if anyone else has run into this, and what some causes might be. My coworkers are citing the retrograde of Mercury.

Also, working in CS6 and running OSX 10.6 with 20 GB of memory.

And how does one do that? (I’m working in CS6.)

Hey, I figured it out! I had a weird file in my bin– probably not an .mov, but it somehow got an .mov extension. Deleting that made the XML work.

Figured it out, mostly. We needed to download Calibrated MXF in order for our machine to even read the video files. Once it was able to do that, Avid was able to relink them. Not sure why those files wouldn’t play with the Avid MXF codec, but regardless, we now have the codecs to play the files.

No such luck, same issue. Other ideas?

After Effects CS4 could export animated GIFs, but 5 and on apparently can’t. I’d export an TIFF sequences, making sure to export RGB + Alpha, then import that into Photoshop, and then export the GIF from Photoshop. Not sure Photoshop’s GIF support parameters, but as Darby said, GIFs can support on/off alpha channels.

  • Seems like this is really easy to do in CS6 using the built in camera tracker! Haven’t had the chance to get my hands on a copy yet, though.

I’ve had success exporting directly from After Effects using the DVD preset.
