[Graham Bernard] “Ah right! Understood. Within the Text Workspace it “appears” to be Word Wrapping. It’s not, believe me. I’ve once to roll credits of 200+ individuals which needed to Roll from Right to Left. It worked.”
Ok, and how do I do this in Vegas Pro? Can you give me a tutorial or something similar?

I don’t know what’s going wrong on your end, but there should be two images there. Here’s a link to the second. And if you still can’t help or don’t understand after this, then I can’t say anything else.

[Graham Bernard] “Ben I don’t get the samples you speak of in that link. And I’m not understanding the remainder of your descriptions.
“Can you not see the images? I truly don’t know how else to tell you what I’m looking for, since that’s pretty clear to me.
Let’s say you want to add text in Vegas Pro. Ok, so you right click the timeline and select “Insert Text Media”. You do so. You type out your text, but it doesn’t fit within the space that you want. So you hit enter in the middle of the text, and the remainder is on a new line directly below it. Same as if you did it in Microsoft Word.
This is an example
of that text-spacing ability
in action. Now, I want each of those THREE lines to fade in, from left to right, one at a time. However, the “Linear Wipe” transition fades all three in at the same time. I could separate each line into its text media, but since I have to do this upwards of a hundred times, that would be too tedious and it’s just not an option.
I see this effect all the time in Youtube videos, and in my mind, there has to be a plugin or something that will do it for me. But I’ve looked high and low for hours and I can’t find an answer.

To be specific, they need to be left to right in order to look like lines of code coming in on a computer screen, or dialogue in a video game. And this is going to be done hundreds of times, so making them all separate is not an option.

[Graham Bernard] “What do you mean? As in extra Lines between your vertical lines of Text?”
Horizontal lines. The best way I can think to demonstrate is to show you.
The first image is me using the base Legacy text generator in Vegas Pro. I’ve spaced some of the text down so that it can fit in a box. And I want each “line” to fade in one at a time, one after the other. However, as you can see in the second image, a Linear Wipe can only do the entire thing at once, and so I need another method.
[Graham Bernard] “Have you had a go at the Vegas Credit Roll? I haven’t used it for a billion years, but you may get what you want. There’s also VP’s ProTypeTitler …ugh…. I’ve got NewBlue Titler Pro….”
I tried the Credit Roll thing and it doesn’t work, again, it fades the entire text media. ProType Titler seems a little over my head…this should be a simple thing to accomplish, but I can’t find anything.

I’m right clicking the timeline on a video track.

I’ve tried that John, but the scene goes on for a whole minute, so copypasting over and over would be a pain. I was hoping there was an alternative to make it more consistent, like combining the color and strobe effects, but I’m not sure how to do that.
-
No, it’s not an instant cut. And it’s not a solid color. Rather it’s a red tint over the scene that smoothly fades in and out.

Actually, I figured out the actual problem. My GPU was accelerating video processing. Once I turned it off, no more crashes. Thanks for your help, though.
