I have to strongly disagree with Larry. The business model wasn’t the reason. Unrelated, Apple’s own FCPX forum has always been the largest and most active community, still is. No slow down there.

Top left of the screen, there’s the media browser, you can select your Apple Music library there to import, but beware of DRM protected music, as FCPX may not let you use it.

They’re just called “markers” in FCPX. There are three kinds: Markers, To-Do List, DVD Chapter.

In the Timeline Index go to Tags. It’ll list them all there for you. Click on one in the list for the playhead to jump to it. Double click the Notes column header and the marker will open ready to change the text. There’s keyboard shortcuts to make them, delete them, move between them, look in the Mark menu, the Previous and the Next sub-menus. And that’s about it.

    Duration of the Project?

What codec are you exporting to?

What drive are you specifying FCP to write that to?

Audio out of sync more and more over time is caused by one thing, audio sample rates not matching. Verify both devices are recording 48kHz audio. Audio is not recorded in FPS so that has no effect.

It seems your action cam is claiming 30fps when in reality it is doing the drop-frame version. I’ve seen quite a few cameras do that. Wish they’d not. But now you know what your camera is REALLY recording.

As for Zoom, I have never combined material sourced from other devices with it. But I do always see that Zoom is pretty consistent in recording non-standard 32kHz audio. But then it can only record 720 video, which sucks. But you are going to have to contend with Zoom being 32kHz and your camera being 48kHz. If your camera has an audio sample rate setting, and it lets you change to 32kHz sample rate, do that. Otherwise use Compressor, convert the Zoom clip to a new H.264 clip with 48kHz audio. Usually that will work. Also, if your camera will let you set it to 25fps to match Zoom, that’d help with matching things up a tad bit, also.

I used to edit on my boat under a tree on Blind River, never had issues with FCP GUI colors.

  • X2Pro, audio conversions, right, got the two confused.

“I think that it would be fair to assume that B&H would be putting on B&H T-Shirts, and showcase everything in their shop, unless a better offer came by.”

No, B&H is a super store for electronics, the put up displays, online ad campaigns, etc, all the time that are brand or product specific. It’s normal practice for large resellers to do that. They’d put on the Apple t-shirts (there’s no law stopping anyone from wearing an Apple t-shirt for whatever reason) to sell Apple products. But Apple didn’t lift a finger for someone else’s event. I’ve seen B&H do this before, I think it’s a big deal made over nothing. But let the unfounded rumors fly.
