Excellent blacks ! And the backlight is even adjustable.

One note: The way these come setup from the factory is awful, but anyone with a good eye (and/or a copy of Avia) can set one up perfect in a minute or two.

The Westinghouse LVM-42w2 (42in) and LVM-47w1 (47in) are amazing displays. Both are native 1080P.

Beware – Westinghouse also makes some El Cheapo displays that don’t stack up, but this LVM series are the “real deal” !!

I heard from a former member of the CineWave engineering team that Andrew’s now with the Pinnacle (Avid) consumer product division. Andrew’s a character, but he always made sure his end users got what they needed ! I miss having him in our corner !!

[walter biscardi] “With the CineWave, I would simply place all 22 supers in the timeline and hit play, no need to re-render all the supers in the timeline.”

Yeah, where’s Andrew Baum when we need him !!!

[walter biscardi] “Much more flexible and ultimately more useful in day to day editing than a single stream of Alpha playing out.”

And definitely the MOST asked for feature request I ever get from my customers !!!

November 1, 2006 at 11:30 pm in reply to: Upconverting DV and Beta to DVCPRO HD

[Shane Ross] “Bart: We are working with Varicam footage, which is 59.94 on tape, and pulldown removed to get us 23.98.”

So the “upconversion” from NTSC to 720p isn’t your only issue. You also have a framerate problem. Is there any specific reason you must edit at 23.98 ?

    Shane,

Is this DVCPRO HD 720p24 material still inside the 60fps (59.94) matrix or is it in a true 24fps (23.976) progressive format on the computer ?
