Mads, thanks again for checking into this I owe you one.
I see you feel my pain, it’s like no one talks about this and I don’t understand it,
it seems a simple thing many people would do…. maybe it’s so simple and obvious I’m missing it…

    BUT

IS THERE ANY MAGIX/VEGAS people who can answer this question, I guess I need to put it on their board… I just always have had better luck here?

    Thanks for the Reply Mads
I guess you bring up a fundamental question that would make my question moot.

If I just put the 4k into the vegas timeline it will act like it’s 1080 in the sense that it will fit

The question is if I blow up a section and use it, will it be blowing up the image as a 4k file or a converted 1080p. In other words I just want to get the advantage of using small areas in the 4k footage and it looking as good as the 1080p or better when I render

I’ve had the same issues and done all the obvious fixes, deleting my license on magix support site etc, still EVERY time I start up the program it wants me to register.

Also if you are on the 365 plan you only get to use it on ONE computer.

19 was great, I literally had no problems

Now with 20 I’m back to crashing constantly, I’ve done the usual fixes and it’s not helping…. anyone else having crashing issues again with 20, I thought we were done with that stuff

I’m sure I “could” build my own, if it was that advantageous…
but then I have to deal with perhaps a board not playing nice with a processor or whatever
I’d rather pay $100 more and have someone put it together ???? Now if we are talking $500
that might be worth it ????

anyplace you look/buy part to put yours together.

    thanks

After transferring them to all Wav’s it’s made a big difference.

I’m still needing to upgrade my rig and consider moving to premier but, at least It’s not an emergency now ????

    thanks again

    Hi George
    Thanks for your advice.

This seems to happen every time I upgrade. I get terrible stalls and delays etc. Eventually, I figure out what is the problem. Last time (ver 15) someone helped me by telling me to turn off “close media files when not active” https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/24/1021165

This time what happens is that if I only have one video and audio on timeline, it works fine.
But I usually need to stack 3 other long audio files and sync them (other mics, recording comedy audiences)

Once I do that, forget it. When I first hit the space bar, I might have to wait 60 seconds or more before it will start. Then it gets a bit better BUT still will stop for 30 seconds almost any time I move the curser at all.
To be clear, I have multiple video clips and then 3 dig audio files that are 3-4 hours long, maybe 250 mb each. It appears that my cpu is usually at 85% when this happens.

When I first upgraded it was usable but still had a lot of these stalls, I’m pretty sure it’s since I’ve added 2 more audio files is when it went south.

    – rebooted a million times
    – I removed all plugins
    – I completely removed and reinstalled vegas 16 into a fresh subdirectory

    – I’ve tried cutting everything down so the file is only about 5 minutes (only one of the 4 gig videos) and the 3 additional audio files (they are a full 4 hours long, I’d have to cut them into pieces for them to be smaller) When I do this I remove everything from the timeline so it’s just the 4 files.

    – I’ve tried to recreate this from a fresh file in case of corruption. When I put the video file in… everything is fine. When I put any of the other audio files in it gets worse and worse. not sure if that means my cpu can’t handle it.

My computer Intel Core i7-6700k CPU @ 4.0 ghz 4.01ghz
but I have 24 gb of ram
63 bit OS windows 10 home

    I do appreciate any suggestions.
