Ah… yes… the FAQ. I’m still hoping that one day something like this would be integrated within the COW. Which is why I started collecting some of it, as sort of a proof-of-concept.
Anyway,

1. Please try to pick a more useful name for your threads.
2. What kind of footage are you looking for?

There’s a new forum on the COW for the AJA Xena. I haven’t worked with one myself, but Andrew Kramer is hosting the forum, so I’m sure he’ll be able to shed his light on it 🙂

Hmmm, somehow your link wasn’t visible in the post.
Let me try:

1. Drag your footage into a comp
2. Create a new comp of the same size for the gradient.
3. Create a new solid in this comp, and apply the Ramp effect.
4. Drag this gradient comp into your new comp, below the footage layer and turn off visibility for the gradient comp.
5. Apply Compound Blur to your footage layer, and set the Blur Layer to your gradient comp.
Should work.

Expressions can’t directly access or modify pixels. So no, you can’t create a keyer using expressions.
But why do you think it would result in a better keyer than for instance Keylight?

Yep… that one still bugs me, too… Sorry ’bout that. I’ll see what I can do about it 🙂

Well,
I just spent 20 minutes recreating this title using Card Dance.
Here’s what I got:
https://www.raamw3rk.net/externalrefs/title_carddance.movThe actual movement of the cards isn’t too complicated. But since Card Dance doesn’t cast shadows I had to fake that.
Here’s the project file. It’s pretty straightforward, except for the faked shadows.

It’s a 7.0 project though…

[eric rosner] “make it the shake or nuke program that it should be…”
If Shake is what you want, Shake is what you need to buy… It would be totally pointless to revamp AE to be Shake.
[eric rosner] “boo hoo from adobe”
Huh? You’ve lost me there.Bar3nd
