I was looking into esata express card, dont know what to buy, what do you suggest. Also, from what I have read, FW800 is very consistent at 800mbps and is bus powered, what about esata?

Thanks Prema. I’m tried it out yesterday with my Lacie d2 1tb FireWire 800 everything works fine. And canon e1 is a god send, I’ve been using it for a month.

I’m skeptical about accessing the data on a cold start did give me the beach ball. Hopefully while intensive editing it doesn’t show up.

Just a question, is this kind of ext hdd setup preferable or using an internal data hdd (not the boot drive) is better?

Just used Compressor in FCP to convert .mov file with h.624 pal 30 fps to ProRes Pal 25, works perfectly, I hope i wouldnt have to do that all the time, there is a rumour that in April Canon will release new firmware to address this issue, because probably the europeans and asians are not buying it that much.
