Thanks again for all your help! So I thought that that did the trick, but then I realized it plays different on my Mac vs my PC. The exported file itself plays fine on both computers, and the uploaded version plays fine on Vimeo and Youtube on my Mac. But, on my PC, the uploaded version has sort of strobe-like broken white lines in some of the footage. Any thoughts? And again, I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your help! I’m at a total loss.

Got it! Thanks! Yes, those have been applied to all the HD clips. But its actually the SD footage that seems to be giving me the most issues. You can see the flashing lines in the first five seconds of this draft

Do I need to export mixed footage a certain way or do I just default to the lowest common denominator? Thank you again for your help with this!!

Yes on Motion 4 and FCP7

I don’t have to render the QT file when I put it in Motion. I only need to render it when I’m working with the actual Motion project files in the timeline.

Should I just use the .motn file in my final project instead of the exported QT file? What is your recommended sequence setting for FCP?

Also the images that appear behind the words are actually another separate motion project on a video track below, so the two overlap slightly. Could that be causing the issue?

Hi Mark,

Ok, so that beautifully fixed the pixelation, but the text still jumps as it moves across the screen. If I go frame by frame I can see that text stops moving for 1 frame, every 4 or 5 frames, giving it that jumping feel toward the end. Any ideas?

Thank you so much for your help! I’m sorry to bug you again but I tried having the sequence set up the way you outlined, and I’m still getting the same result (blurred, jagged movement) as seen here in the opening and at 27 seconds https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LawmYZteW3U

Is it possible there is a problem with my Motion project settings for those two graphics? They are both:
XDCAM EX 1080i50
1920×1080
25fps

The sequence setting in FCP is:
1920×1080 HDTV1080i
Editing time base: 25
Compressor: Apple ProRes 422

Because I changed the compressor in FCP should I also change it in my motion projects?

Your help is beyond appreciated!! I am absolutely as lost as I seem 🙂

Thank you so much for your help! I redid all of the Motion graphics and changed the sequence settings so they all match (1920×1080, XDCAM EX 1080i50), however the quality of the graphics still look really bad on export. Particularly the opening title sequence and a series of pictures that move across the screen.

I tried just exporting it as a QT movie with all of the current settings and everything is still a bit blurred and not clean-looking. (As seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ChQiOpcOltU)

I also tried exporting using QT conversion with H.264 compression, 1920×1080 HD. The graphics look cleaner but there are white lines through anything that moves across the screen. I did check deinterlace source video.

This video will mostly likely be used just as an embedded video on a website, but may be played over a projector.

Once again, any and all feedback would be more than appreciated!!
