I’m sure all three suggestions will cure my problem. I’ve changed a few MB’s before but I’m a bit of a Freshman when it comes to dual core. Any complicated differences with the install? Hardware incompatibility with my current set up?

Thanks again for your help. It means much.

    Aaron, Andre,

..and all others. Thank you for the advice. A “Simple fix” considering the other complications I have been through. I changed that MB to add more RAM. Any suggestion as to which one is better for my configuration?

    Thanks

    Thank you!
It is an ABIT VT7 VIA PT880 chipset Pentium 2.54 GHz 2 GB ram My main drive is a Maxtor 6Y120p0 I have 3 other (Empty for storage) WDCWD 1200JB with the Matrox RT.X100 ATI Radeon 9700 video card. No other applications have problems. I just learned tonight that it does not matter if I use the Matrox RT. 100 capture or firewire. It still will only capture a few seconds then reboot. It does save a quick partial file to one of the drives every time. I have PPro one. I installed PPro, installed the card, recognized it, disregarded Windows hardware installation, installed downloaded zip tools then opened PPro. Makes me think it is not a software problem. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times. 6.5 does the same thing with the RT 100 and the original tools.

    Thanks for your time

    Andre,
I miss spoke. I used Xtool 5078 that I downloaded as a zip file. That loaded fine. My windows XP has service pak 1a

It is a stand alone computer not connected to the internet or any infrastructure. I don’t have any virus protection on it. (Probably should get it anyway!) Seems odd it will capture for a few seconds then reboot. It doesn’t save to any hardrive. Doesn’t give me any errors.

Thanks for your comments. Please keep them comming.

There are 4 fans that run constant. After Effects, Photoshop, Encore, Audition, Multicam, Ultra 2 all work fine. Pro loaded fine but won’t run. It makes me think I need a driver or some kind of fix. I have only loaded the new Matrox tools for Pro. I have not added anything else.

Maybe that’s not my problem. I’m still searching. Thanks for the info.

    Interesting,
I’ve never had this problem before. It doesn’t matter what drive I capture it to. Photoshop, Encore, Audtion, After Effects all work fine. I’ll read your post. Maybe it will help me.

    Puzzlement!
