    Hello,
I have been using Premiere pro for some time and I have just recently encountered a problem. I have a straight firewire for capture. Every time I try to capture, it will capture about 7 or 10 minutes then shut down with a hardware error “contact vendor” Then the computer shuts off and reboots. I have tried to capture to all 3 drives (2 empty 120gigs )in the computer and one external one. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Premiere Pro 3 times. I even loaded 6.5 and had the same problem. Just before this happened, I finished a short 8 minute DVD of a still pictures on the timeline that I scanned into Photoshop with no problems. Baffling for me. Anyone have suggestions?

I posted the same issue today (Sept 21). Premiere Pro functions ok even when the capture is activated; I can move the mouse cursor. As soon as I turn on my Panasonic PV-GS250, the mouse freezes and my computer reboots just like you describe. I can’t capture though.

Let me know how your issue is resolved. Thanks.

    Interesting,
I’ve never had this problem before. It doesn’t matter what drive I capture it to. Photoshop, Encore, Audtion, After Effects all work fine. I’ll read your post. Maybe it will help me.

    Puzzlement!
