As i don’t use FCP, i give you a tip from simple user:

export in .flv is not the only way to make flv file…
Flash Player CAN play H.264… so you just have to export in H264 format and change ( yes ! ) the extension ( .mov often kept after export by the most like Quicktime 7 Pro )…by .flv

for exemple, in Quicktime 7 Pro, export your video in sequence with option H.264, you will obtain a .mov
Just change mov by flv and it will be oK.

    Hope that helps.

    Hello,
was using CS3, now upgrade to CS4.
I had to reinstall Flash Encoder CS3 and Quicktime Pro 7 on another Mac to copy the FLV plug in Quicktime installed by Flash CS3.
    (Main)HD / Library / Quicktime / FLV.component
Just copy now at the same place in your Library Main Hard drive…..and WOW !

If you have just one computer, you must uninstall Flash and Media encoder and install Flash Encoder CS3 to pickup the FLV.component file , reinstall Flash and Media Encoder CS4 and finish input the file at the good place.
nb: MediaEncoderCS4 make a better render but like me, you think that Quicktime render is enough sometimes…

    Hope it”s helpfull to you

  • Hi,
I have now CS4 at work and i have fix that problem by reinstalling Flash Encoder CS3 on another Mac and Just for that time Quicktime 7 Pro…
Have copied in (Main) / Library / Quicktime /… the FLV.component
    Uninstalled Flash and Quicktime…
and copy the plugin in the same place in the Main hard drive where CS4 is installed…

    That works !
Just know that: as it’s really fast for keep or send a small size file of your project preview, CS4 arrived with a real Media Video Encoder which is better for all encoding.

    Hope that helps.
