  • Export from FCP to FLV within FCP – Have Flash 8 – No option?

Posted by Elijah Lynn on December 6, 2008 at 12:11 am

I have FLash 8 and FCP 6.0.5. I do not see any option to export straight to *.flv?

Any suggestions on how to enable this?

In Main> Library> Quick Time you need to have a “FLV Component”.
Export to Flash shows as an option when exporting with QT Conversion from FC.

    Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I just checked my Library/Quicktime folder and I see a FLV.component file listed. When I go to “export/using quicktime conversion” and then click options/settings/compression type I do not see anything listed for flv or flash nor anything under adobe or macromedia.

    Any further thoughts?

    Thank you for your time

You need to click beside “Movie to QT Movie” to open the list of export formats.

    Should be there.

    Hey Rafael,

I think I have a different version of FCP than you.

I attached screenshots of all my menus.

Instead of clicking on options, you need to open the Quicktime dropdown menu to the left of the option button.

There is no FLV option in that dropdown menu. I added a 6th picture to the gallery in the link above to show.

    Thanks

    Hi Elijah
Sorry I’ve been with no Internet for a few days.
You should have the FLV option in the list of your last PNG.
Try to reinstall the Flash software.

Thanks for your continued discussion. I reinstalled it once. I will try to reinstall it again. Should I also see “PNG” in the list as well?

    Hi Elijah,
PNG is one of the options when you choose “Movie to Image Sequence”.
