That is a BIG project. Breaking it up into smaller projects is a good idea. I’ve had to do that on a few docs that I’ve edited. Once you have your content more or less locked in, you may want to media manage your sequence down to a new project. Then create another project just for B-roll, narration, and last minute cut ins ect. I’ve done this a few times and it makes the project much more manageable.

I just had to do something similar. There may be a better way to do this, but this is how I did it.

First, I laid all angles down in 1 sequence and got everything synched up. Then in that sequence I cut up the clips so that each angle had the same in points (this allows you to make the multiclip later on). I had 5 angles and my sequence was broken up into 7 sections with matching in points. Then you take each section and grab all angles/clips for that section and put them in a new bin. Repeat that last step so that you have a seperate bin for each section. Next you go to your first bin and select all the clips and make your multiclip. Use the in points to synch. This will drop a new multiclip in your bin. Repeat this for all bins. Now create a new sequence and drag you multiclips in.

In my case, not all the sections started at the same point, so in the original sequence, I had to trim each section to have the same in point as the clip with the latest in point in the section. Then once the multiclips are made you can drag out your in points if you need to.

I know that sounds confusing but I hope that helps. If anyone knows an easier, or the correct way to do this please let me know.

  • Try trashing your prefs and restarting the entire system. Then just export a portion of the timeline that was giving you problems to see if that worked. If that doesn’t work, try using the media manager to create a project that only has the media that is being used.

I would try using the media manager to collect into a new project without changing codecs. This should just get rid of the unused media. Then take your new project and media manage it again to pro res. I’ve had to do this, but I’m guessing that should solve the problem.

I’m guessing it’s a film leader laid over the video footage with the opacity at about 70%. That’s how I’ve done that in the past. You can probably find some stock footage leader footage online somewhere. Or it could just be a filter.

I use to use an auto run script for enahnced cds that would auto run a director movie on a PC. I haven’t done that in about 10 years though. I’m guessing you could do something similar to that. I would do a google search and test it out.

Yes. I’m just trying to get an SD signal on there. I looked the model up online and it doesn’t look like it does YUV. I’d love to be wrong about that though so if anyone has any idea how to do it, please let me know.

    Thanks,

The monitor is a Sony PVM-20N2U. It is in RGB mode and I can’t find an option in the menu to put it into YUV. There aren’t any physical switches on the thing either. Any ideas?

Ok. I’m hooking the component cables up to the RGB inputs. The settings in the menu have an option for external sync or sync to green. I have no external sync so that doesn’t work. If I choose “sync to green” the picture comes through but it’s all green. I’m guessing my monitor isn’t going to work with the BM card component signal. Can someone confirm this for me?

    thanks.
