Uh. I have a copy of CS5 on my mac but it isnt even in the same country as me… Maybe downloading a trial of CS5 for this would work but I am wary of using a non commercial thing for something like this.
This is so incredibly annoying! -

April 20, 2010 at 5:34 pm in reply to: Twixtor 4.5- Super Slo Mo trouble with 29.97 FootageThanks Dave,
Yesterday I sent an email to the client and they responded saying that they would be able to shoot the footage at 120 FPS. Once they sent me the files i experimented and they do indeed work fine with no ghosting once I put in the best settings for Twixtor I could come up with. Twixtor paired with other techniques is indeed a valuable plugin. While it cannot perform straight up miracles it can do some great things. I understand that the best way to get super slo mo is to shoot at super slo mo, but in this case it worked fine. Thank you for responding.

Thanks a Bunch for this post Todd! I can Absolutely not wait for Roto Brush tool. That will definetly be one of my favorite tools! So wait though my impression from it was that you drew the tool over an area you wanted to mask/select and it basically drew a mask around it? So a bit like the quick selection tool from Photoshop CS4.?

Once you have the TIFF sequence then you should be able to use a Compositing or Editing app to import it then, render it as a Video. I think what your experiencing is called banding. Sometimes i will put in noise to fix it. (sometimes works sometimes doesnt) Otherwise render as a 32 BPC tiff Sequence then follow my instructions

from the sounds of it, this is just some bug in R 11.5. Hold on let me go try it.
Yeah, your right. It seems to disable the GI? Hmmm. Have you searched around the Maxon help? And if that doesn’t help you can always call them?

Here you g, this is Kramer’s tutorial on using omni lights in an array to replicate GI almost perfectly. It’s pretty close. It only becomes noticeable once your output resolution reaches about 4k, and i dont see why you would be rendering 3D footage at 4k so you should be fine. Good luck!

Make a light array. If you do it right then you should be able to receive convincing results. Go watch Andrew Kramers tutorial. he uses VRay on some of them. Its in 3DS MAX but you should be able to replicate it in C4D. GI is NOT good for animation. The light array will also render much quicker.

February 27, 2010 at 3:31 am in reply to: Nehalem 8 core Mac Pro hyperthreading and AE CS4 MultiprocessingTo Be exact you are bottlenecking on your memory and cpus. too much CPU and not enough ram. try lowering the amount of ram per core in ae mp settings, if that doesnt work then increase the amount of ram per core. One of the two should work.

Same Things happens with my mac and its 2 Nehalems. 16 Cores reported. Boy having 16 cores would be amazing.
