  • might want to try using some 3D on it. If you dont have the know how on how to do it either hire someone to do it (kind of extreme) or learn how to do it something like blender

Go to Grayscalegorilla.com and watch his tutorial on moving Cinema 4D things into after effects. he has a lot of other really good ae and C4D tuts too.

After importing your AAE titles into vegas right click on the title in the timline and select properties. Now UNcheck “maintain aspect ratio” this will get rid of the black lines. for the blurriness of the titles when rendering make sure you have the render settings as best and an h,264 or wmv codec if you are making this for web playback or if its for a client use AVI with no compression. Although from the sounds of it you are not making this for a commercial use. In fact i am wondering why you would have a 500 dollar software and not know how to fix aspect ratio differentials?

As far as I saw I never read anything about his work being commercial. I may be mistaken but on my first read through of his post i did not see any mention of commercial gain.

    Hi Shaun,

I like Dave’s Idea but there is another way which may be harder but could potentially make a better quality Cylinder. Use a 3D program. I would have to recommend Cinema 4D just because it would be easiest. If you dont have it just download the demo, it will render in 640×400 as max resolution but if you know how to mess with it you should make it look like its a much higher resolution.

Hmm try saving the RAM preview. Or try to change a few things in after effects, as in rearrange the layers so that they appear in the NLE differently. This may fix the problem. To be Honest I dontknow what the problem here. Maybe Todd Kapriva will come to the rescue? Thats your cue Todd!

Maybe adding a Depth of Field will solve this. You can find it in the 3D channel effects folder. To be Honest im not sure why this is happening but you may by using a depth of field make it realize that the particles need to stay there no matter how close they are because they have an effect on them.

In the area next to the timeline where it gives all the layers and their names etc find the little check box named FX and click on it to turn off all effects. click on it again to turn them back on. Just highlight all of the layers you want to turn off the effects on hit the fx switch and you good to go!
