You cannot capture as that is only for camera’s with firewire.
Just copy whole content of the card to your HDD or use a cardreader.
Then you import your files through the Media Browser.
CS4 does not understand LPCM audio, hence the buzz. It must be Dolby.
Only solution is to convert audio or upgrade to CS5.5. Sorry.

OT: 1 hdd? and 6 gig of ram is a bit a the lean side.

Premiere does not do vector based files.
It rasterizes on import.
However you can do it the other way around.
Make the titles huge in the Titler and animate from small to large.

If your footage is interlaced you edit on a interlaced timeline.
In the export settings set field to non if you want it deinterlaced.
Deinterlacing on the timeline is for stills and slomo’s, freeze frames.

Go to New Sequence/Settings and set Editing Mode to Custom.
Then you are able to set the sequence any way you like.

Delete footage from Premiere
Trash all your media cash.
Delete all pkf files if you can find any.
Restart Premiere with holding ctrl+shift+alt.
Import again in new project.
