Thanks for that, I thought using QT to convert it to another codec but with same frame rate and size would be the go…..just annoying there has been no plug in created like for the canon!
thanks again

mmm not sure but have you tried just showing waveforms in the timeline and keyframing them there instead? Option Command W will show your waveforms and option W will show your clip overlays…..might be easier to work that way instead!

Thanks for that. I always put on the right protect, but seems strange that footage transfered on two different card readers did the same…. but I’ll give them a clean for next time.
Thanks again for the response.
Cheers

Okay Post production wise. I would have used a both a card reader, panasonic in an edit suite to transfer the cards and then some would have also been transfered using a portable card reader too.
In regards to ingestion and conversion, this was done in FCP on my Mac Book pro. I’ve tried re log and transferring some of the cards but still comes up with the same problem. Initially I thought it was something to do with the external hard drive I was using but know that its not that.
Any suggestions?
thanks

I used two, I think this one was shot on a AG-HVX202AEN or AG-HPX172EN, sorry I used both of these and the footage was shot over a year ago, so its hard to remember!
Thanks

Sounds good. And thanks again for the tip!

April 29, 2009 at 9:57 pm in reply to: anyone used a canon EOS 5D Mark 2 with final cut proThat is it. The journalists already carry two cameras as it it, so the idea is that one of them will be a 5D mark 2, they are also talking about a Nikon one but I don’t know which one yet.
I have heard that the audio is a problem and they are talking about using external mics, but I’m thinking how the hell are they going to mount a shotgun mic on it!!! A lapel is easy, if doing an interview….
The frame rate is annoying, particularly as they are based in Australia, how strange that even the PAL version is at 30 fps!
Thanks for all your tips and advice. Its food for thought. I know one major newspaper here has started to use them in the field and like them so far, once they sorted out the audio and also the frame rate!!

March 27, 2009 at 2:34 am in reply to: problems with moving picture in final cut proThey are actually being keyframed in Moving Picture which is a plug in by stage tools..I have suggested After Effects, I hate motion so I’m not going anywhere near that program! Now its down to time, ie not a lot of it left, so reanimation is an issue. I think I’ll output each animated still as a quicktime and drop them back into the timeline!
Thanks
