I was running FCP on my old G5 and just reinstalled it on my new Mac Pro. It works fine except for one problem with audio files.

When I double click an audio clip, the clip loads into the viewer but only part or none of the wave form shows. And when I try to work with key frames, I get trailing volume lines which make it almost impossible to see the actual volume line and keyframe.

It also sometimes shows up as a negative. Black instead of white, etc.
    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

mmm not sure but have you tried just showing waveforms in the timeline and keyframing them there instead? Option Command W will show your waveforms and option W will show your clip overlays…..might be easier to work that way instead!

I’ll give it a shot. Always felt it easier to do it in the viewer. But I’d like to get to the bottom of this anyway.
Thanks for the tip. I’ll try it tomorrow when I’m back at the studio.

    Trash your waveform cache
It’ll have to redraw and might take a bit, not an hour of anything like that

I’ll give it a shot. Where do I find the waveform cache?

Thanks! Deleting the files in the waveform cache cleared up the problem for me.
