If Boris Red works even halfway decently, it will be worth it over the free NewBlue Titler, which is still causing me constant crashes.

Weird, my reply shows up upthread. Here’s what I said.
I’ve checked my Task Manager, but I don’t know what processes I could stop, if any. The only one taking up considerable bandwidth is AdobeFlashPlugin or something. I’ve googled it but can’t find anything saying whether I can stop it or not.
Earlier this week I edited with QTE off because I was having this problem. I noticed that there is no black space in the video in these games, they’re that small. So for now I stopped looking for them. And there are no gaps in the finished video, so I didn’t want to turn off QTE.

Also weird. On this project with multiple video tracks, footage from a Canon Vixia HF S21 and a Canon t3i, and plugins on every video track, preview runs fine during editing. Yet on a simple video I shot the other day, preview was stuttering at 2-3 frames per second.

I don’t see how it can be because my project settings don’t match my media. This has happened to me on other projects recently, all 23.97 fps footage, 1920×1080, etc.
Now, I did have a bunch of 59.97 fps footage on this project from my t3i, so I know how foolish that statement sounds. But I’ve done that on plenty of projects and never had this problem.

You can try a few filters and adjust the levels on them to get the exact result you want, but to muffle audio, one of the things you can try is the Resonant Filter and muffle. Maybe add “Hank on Escape Route” in the Resonant Filter and bring down the wet/dry bar to make it sound distressed, like it’s an old audio recording. Or maybe the “Teenage Late Night Radio” under Resonant Filter. Just try out several and see what works.
2) I have a song clip on the timeline and apply a sound effect to the clip only. If I decide I don’t want that effect, and remove it, the effect still is applied to the audio clip. Shouldn’t sound effects be removed if they’re removed from the Audio Event FX dialog box?”
Right click on the audio track, click “Open new audio track” and just apply the plugin to that clip.

Here’s what somewhat at Red Giant says.
“PluralEyes 2 was not be made compatible with Sony Vegas 12 however, PluralEyes 3 for Windows will be a standalone application that will be able to export files that work with any NLE.”
I like the person’s response, though. These websites apparently need to stop hiring college graduates and hire guys like me who actually understand what people need to know about their product when on their website, because Adobe’s and Red Giant’s are needlessly opaque.

I thought you had to buy the whole After Effects software and then pay the monthly fee, which is ridiculous. But if the After Effects blogger on the AE section of Creative Cow is to be believed, you merely pay the monthly licensing fee. Which ends up being a lot cheaper than buying a new version of After Effects every year (or even two or three). So, now I’m not so sure. I may just want to do it.

I know it can’t be updated, but it seems better than using Boris for special effects, and it’s better than nothing (should be Adobe’s new slogan). CS6 seems to offer more than I’ll ever need, anyways.

I checked, and you do have to get the Creative Cloud subscription. But it’s not required for CS6, so I plan on getting that.
