Keyframe the animation using text in Vegas to make dashes as lines.
To make an effect like what that pic has, you could make a solid blueish color event, mask out the shape you want, bring down the opacity a little to make it a little transparent, and then keyframe animate it using pan and crop.

Yes, just set whatever media player you use to loop.

That is top of the line for video editing. If you want to make a business of this, you’ll have to easily spend at least half that (I did for my PC, now I’m already trying to build a new one). There’s no way around it.

I’ve got an idea for Sony. Use a third party plugin for some kind of 3D titling software that you can use with preset animations and looks. Should work like a charm, especially since 3D titling has existed for decades.

I even read somewhere that it removes the pulldown from the HDMI signal, though I’m contacting Convergent Design to be sure.

One other thing I’ve come across is that it might be an issue to get 23.97 or 24 fps to an external recorder. Is this true? I read that you can’t transfer that over HDMI, so you have to do pulldown on it. Is this the case, and how do you restore it to its original frame rate?

I would just make a DVD of an all green image and play that on the tv and just key in the footage you want and apply filters to make it look tv like afterwards.

It’s not a problem, but check YouTube for tutorials. It’s got all the basics on there and you can find answers much quicker than on here. Or just go to Vegas’ Help menu.
