Same here. I am cutting a feature on FCP 5 shot with the Sony HDV camera. We captured directly from that camera and it worked perfectly.

How much drive space do you need? That is a big factor when purchasing a drive.

Thanks. Yes, I always put my scenes in different sequences. The question is wether FCP can handle all of the footage in one project.

I was just trying to simply open the “Audio/Video” settings option from the menu. I wasn’t able to change anyhting because the “General Error” message kept popping up and wouldn’t even open the menu. Very strange. I have quit and restarted several times and nothing. I don’t know what to make of it.

I have not looked at a moniter at this point. I have just started and only viewed it on the computer moniter. The thing is though, that I do this all the time and view it on my computer moniter first and have never seen this before. This is however, the first time I’ve worked with HDV.
