    Hello,

I am planning to shoot with hdv. I haven’t decided which camera I going to use because I heard I need to buy a plugin to capture hdv from the sony, panasonic or the new jvc. Is that true?

    Thanks
    Max

I just captured from the Sony directly into FCP 5 with two different codecs and both worked fine ( HDV and Apple Intermediate)

Same here. I am cutting a feature on FCP 5 shot with the Sony HDV camera. We captured directly from that camera and it worked perfectly.

I’ve read that one needs to convert hdv to the apple intermediate codec in order to avoid problems editing and then I’ve read that one needs to operate natively in hdv to avoid editing problems. What should I believe? Has anyone done both and can testify?
