I am getting the same note from Compressor. It is telling me I don’t have read/write access. How can I fix this?

Alright, just to update anyone who might care- I have upgraded to a newer OS (Snow Leopard) and re-installed the plug in. It now seems to be working without issue. Hooray!

I’m realizing that I’m running Mac OS 10.4.11 and think I might need to be running 10.6.2 or later. I’m going to buy Snow Leopard in the morning and see if that solves the problem. Good luck to me!

I am having the same trouble as some of these folks. I have installed the plug in, but FCP doesn’t seem to read it. When I open ‘Log and Transfer’ and go to preferences, there is no option for a Canon DSLR.

I’ve got to get this solved by Monday night, so if anyone has any advice at all, please let me know! Thanks very much…

Oh, and when I follow the described path, the plug in was not there. Thoughts? I’ve tried re-installing it to no avail.

Yeah, and sorry I didn’t have anything to add. I didn’t disappear or anything. You guys were just putting the problem much more intelligently than I could, so I just kept following along and reading. Thanks to both of you for sticking it out and working on this.

Man, sounds like we have a single file that corrupted quite a bit.
In response to the last question, I can open FCP and any files and projects, as long as they didn’t tough that one file. If I try to open any of those projects, I get that same message.

That’s what did it to me! I couldn’t recall what I had been doing when Final Cut crashed on me, but I was saving a .mov file from quicktime in another format and trying to bring it into Final Cut.

I have version 6.0. I haven’t done any updates. Maybe that’s the issue? Although it certainly wouldn’t explain the “outdated version” problem.

I’ve been having this problem constantly over the past couple years- and maybe someone already posted this, but twice never hurt anyone- and today i found my solution.
Hit “Apple i” when the clip is selected. when the info pops up, just uncheck the “locked” box and you can do whatever you want with it.
