so it is worth the additional $50 to get the Blackmagic Design ULTRASTUDIO MINI RECORDER.

ok so hdmi is workable to the thunderbolt but there is some kind of drm that could be a problem. i am currently able to record to my set top box dvd recorder from the hdmi so maybe the drm isn’t an issue with these recordings.

hmmm…

these are already recorded programs on the directv dvr.

so since my imac has mini display, not thunderbolt the hdmi plan is no good. but is the component to firewire an option?

wow thanks for that shane!

i just noticed that i have component out coming from the dvr does that change things at all?

my imac (MC812LL/A) has a ‘thunderbolt port’ but something tells me it is more like a mimi display port rather than a fully-functional thunderbolt port on this model. hopefully i’m wrong. might you know?

it might be appealing to do this just so i won’t have to clear me current system HD in order to partition it, reinstall everything, etc. i’m partitioning because i am running fc 7 on the current system. is that overkill to partition or will they both run ok on my current HD?

great guys, thanks.

i’m just having a little trouble lining the two text layers up since the original text (sentence) has some behaviors added and ‘grows’ and ‘throws’ ever so slightly differently over time from the copied text with just the one word. i guess i might just have to stop the action, glow/highlight the one word and be done with it. i am surprised there is no ‘word’ or ‘selection’ option for a behavior like a glow/highlight.
