Big Fan of Digital Heaven and used their Movie Logger for years. However there’s a service already out there i’m using every week that does a fantastic job and is far less expensive than 75 cents a minute (as low as 20 cents a minute if you use it a lot)
It locks the transcript to the video you upload…but not to the raw video — and it’s extraordinarily accurate

Key framing in Pr “too far removed from clip”
Doesn’t have to be – you can expand the video or audio track in the time timeline – pick your parameter with a control or right click – and do the key framing right on the clip – and not in the effects window – if you’d like

That non subscription model doesn’t seem like a recipe for frequent “listen to the user” updates. 🙂

Premiere Pro had this in earlier versions of their program and it either worked really well or not at all . When it worked it saved you hours of logging — when it didn’t – you wasted hours for a result hoping it would.

we used to be able to just control click on the audio or video or unlink the two with a keyboard short cut – add the effect – done
is it that hard to put that into FCP X when it’s something most editors do every day?

not that interesting a question when you consider we’re talking about EDITING — taking something shot and putting it in a different order – isolating video and mixing it with different audio sources or the other way around. Virtually every other NLE allows keyboard or right click shortcuts to chose an audio or video dissolve — several years out FCP X still makes this a Texas Two Step
