September 26, 2017 at 8:07 pm in reply to: Update Apps without removing previous versions CC 2017?

When it’s a major release like 2015 to 2017 vs. a dot update / patch you get the opportunity to keep the previous version. The installer will not let you install 2017.x and keep it at that version when you upgrade / patch to 2017.x.x.
File a feature request with Adobe to see if they will incorporate this request into their CC installers.

September 26, 2017 at 7:47 pm in reply to: Media Encoder dropping LUTs on export

If on a Mac, try copying your custom S-Log 3 LUT to the Media Encoder / Contents / Lumetri / LUTS folder. Go to Applications and Right click on the Media Encoder icon, show contents, then path to the folder and paste your LUT. Media Encoder should now see your LUT when exporting. Be careful doing it this way as some custom LUTs are not supported and can lead to odd behavior with your Adobe applications.

Additionally, you can add your S-Log 3 LUT through the effects tab of Media Encoder’s export preset setting so it points to the LUT properly.

August 16, 2017 at 3:37 pm in reply to: Premiere Pro Error Message 512 (Red Giant related??)

What version of Premiere are you using? What OS version?

Start a support ticket with Red Giant.

Have you checked that you are running the latest versions of their software? They have released a few product updates the past few days.

Trying doing a render and replace for that area of your sequence and see if you can export the entire timeline.

Render previews for your timeline and then check the “use previews” box in the export menu and see if it exports?

Have you tried queuing the export through Media Encoder vs. Premiere?

You need to log into the Creative Cloud. Your CC icon is gray, so that means you are not logged in so it can license the product.

For those of you still using VLC be sure to update to the latest version due to security issues in the player. You can read about it here.

  • Yes, the deletion of original media was a bug in the last version. Adobe released a patch due to the issue. You can read about it here: https://blogs.adobe.com/creativecloud/premiere-pro-11-1-1-update/
Please upgrade to the new version to avoid this critical issue.

If you save your cache files next to originals in your prefs and cleaned your cache, it would delete the original media. Thus the reason to always locate your Media Cache files in another folder not anywhere near your original media.

  • What versions of Premiere are you working in? (there have been 3 updates to PPro 2017) What Computer OS?

If you worked on this project in a previous version of Premiere and upgraded, delete all your media cache folders. Create a clean project and import your old project through the media browser. Premiere will need time to recreate all your media cache so make sure you are not in a rush before attempting this fix. Also, if you have any custom workspaces, delete them and rebuild them in the new version of Premiere.

May 24, 2017 at 6:55 pm in reply to: Cannot Authenticate BRU PE

    Hi Dan,

I just updated our LTO Library Mac to El Capitan and BRU PE version 3.1.23 build 359. The Mac OS upgrade was not a clean flush and fill to save time, so just updated on top of Yosemite 10.10.5. We are using an old Mac Tower with a ATTO SAS H680 card hooked up to the external LTO 6 drive. After the software update the user account authenticates and loads the catalogs. I’ve asked the librarian to bring back a couple files from archive to see if we have the same permissions issues you are having. Might be a day or two before she responds, but will post back on what we are seeing.

Have you tried booting while holding down the “option” key? If your OS’s are on separate partitions, you should then boot up to a choice of hard drive Icons with each OS listed. Click on the older one you want and it should boot into it.
