to see if your mac has a Blu-Ray burner, go to the system profiler and check your “disc burning” hardware settings. Check for “BD-Write” capabilities.

One possible basic workflow is as follows: export a same as source quicktime, compress in compressor for Blue-Ray, use Adobe Encore to create an ISO out of your compressed audio and video, and finally burn the disc in Toast.

I’ve encountered a bug in Media Composer where audio doesn’t playback if I switch formats from SD to HD within a project…the fix is to go to the audio output settings and under “HD SDI” settings, toggle the audio “off” and then back “on”.

This strange solution is probably based on my particular setup, but give it a shot and see if it helps.

well that narrows it down. I am thinking it was a sort of fluke, maybe something to do with the insert point on the tape that tripped up the VITC? It’s a real mystery.

try going to the video output tool and changing the “downconvert” mode to letterbox, then exporting.

If it’s a constant looping interval, I suppose I’d animate a null object with the desired y-axis movement, loop it using time remap, and parent it to the position property of the object.

I’m thinking of trying a simple pan shot (inspired by this thread) by rigging my tripod with some sort of makeshift “stops” to get as precise as possible. I’m working a zero budget, so just some sort of L-shaped device that will control the start and end points of my pan…maybe even just markings on the walls just outside of the viewable areas.

I’m really not too concerned with the timing because I can always timewarp a tad to make sure I get from A to B in the same amount of time on each take. I might even throw in a zoom or two, by God!

you can find where a young man hands himself a cup of water, etc. on YouTube, and he does a good job

Any chance you could provide a link to that? I’d like to take a look. Thanks!

it is normal for frames not to be displayed on playback in realtime(at least mine don’t either). Are you sure your Source/Record Window is not overlapping your timeline window or vice versa? because this would cause video not to playback.

Firewire control (at least on the Pannie decks I’ve used) won’t let you insert edit.

I’ve gotten around this by creating a video mixdown before laying off.

  • Correction, I didn’t notice you said DV Widescreen. The PAR would be 1.2, not 0.9.
