I am trying to record to tape on my Sony vx2100. The problem is I cannot hear any audio when I try to record. The video plays fine but I can’t get any audio to record. this is my first time exporting to tape on Express Pro so I am unsure if I missed something. I am reviewing the book but I can’t find anything in there that can help me out.

also if trying to use the camera to see timeline as client monitor nothing comes through. Is these two issues related? Is it a setting I am missing here?

I opened up Avid Liquid and everything is fine. I get audio and video coming through on record to tape and when playing the timeline. Any ideas/

    Hi Dewan,
is your camera connected via firewire? Have you checked the audio sample rate. Maybe there is a mismatch.(32.Khz /48 Khz)How is your audio tool configured. Do you use Stereo Mix 1/2 or direct out? How is your camera connected to the client monitor? Maybe your camera doesn`t slave through the recording signal.
    Yours sincerely Hans

I’ve encountered a bug in Media Composer where audio doesn’t playback if I switch formats from SD to HD within a project…the fix is to go to the audio output settings and under “HD SDI” settings, toggle the audio “off” and then back “on”.

This strange solution is probably based on my particular setup, but give it a shot and see if it helps.
