That is exactly what I’m after. I knew it would have to exist. Thanks heaps.

I use the effects panel and double-clicking as you do. I agree that remembering a lot more keyboard shortcuts would be a pain but it wouldn’t be a lot that would need to be assigned to shortcuts. It’s something that I figure would be infinitely faster to have a UI button to single click (and free up precious screen realestate too). Rearranging all the ones I use regularly to be in a single folder would probably save a lot of time though for a start, so I’ll try that.

I’m still eager to find any ways I can minimize the UI and work without leaving from the timeline and composition windows however.

  • I think I understand the question…

Try making the Particular with a Light Emitter, parent the Light to a 3D Null in the centre of the comp, then just rotate the Null on the Z-axis. A lot easier than trying to do it with expressions.

Your current time indicator shows that you’re outside of the active time for the comp. Click anywhere on the time ruler and everything should show up.

  • Thank you! Both solutions work with a +90 degree offset on the result. I’ve never used position.velocity in expressions before but I’m eager to try it out a bit now. The results are almost identical, do you have a link or quick explanation for how the velocity is calculated for a layer?

Thanks for the reply, but no need to check. Came back to work on Monday, and it’s fixed itself.

I’m not even going to try to explain this one, but crisis temporarily averted I guess.
