Thanks everyone for the help. I exported the file as an MOV and then opened compressor separately and it worked great! The links for the setup were excellent too!

Well I thought this would fix it, but I have tried with 4 and 8 cores, and it just errors after a few seconds every time =\

I am not, and I didn’t know that was a possibility, is there a quick reference guide to setting one up somewhere handy?

Yeah I work for a small production company mainly doing CSPAN shoots and weddings and such, but we do a lot of transfers of older media to newer mediums.
The client stated he had jpegs he pulled off of a old laser dic. So I am assuming there’s not much I can do.

And the CSI thing is a daily occurrence here. People come in with 16mm film and want it on DVD in HD or want a still image pulled with an 8×10 photo printed from it, and I say the same thing, the stuff you see on TV isnt real.

I have also been informed that if I don’t want to use ShotPut, that I can just provide them with a same as source Quicktime output with a drag and drop duplicate copy of the P2 card as a backup, which in my mind is fairly easy. That would be just exporting the footage out in .mov and copying the drive that shows up on my desktop when i connect my camera if I am not mistaken.

Question: Are you using Apple Compressor?

I had an issue with this not too long ago while making a basketball demo, and there are a few options in Compressor that can fix the issue.

Shane, I have been reading through these forums and I was hoping someone with your expertise would try to help! Thank you for the comments, they have helped. I am now assuming that I am exporting the video wrongly. First question, is log and transfer better than the log and capture for my camera? Second question, they want the file format in .avi or .mov so as a mac user I am more comfortable using .mov. After exporting the video from FCP I have a .mov file that has a bitrate of like 10 mbit, so any suggestions for exporting would be lovely!
