August 23, 2013 at 4:22 am in reply to: MacVidCards has Mac EFI Titan and GTX780 finished – makes them into native OSX cardsWhat might I ask are you charging for this modification service? Can’t we just flash the cards ourselves on a PC tower, I have come across articles that explain how to do it easily but have also heard its not that hard to do.
Maybe just save yourselves the trouble, ebay hassle for support and expense, just buy the stock pc version and deal with no boot screen.
I’ve used a standard stock GTX 5803gb, 6804gb and now Titan (w/ external PSU), all with no bootscreen on different macpro’s, 3,4 & 5,1 and dont miss it! With OSX 10.9 there is supposed to be a bunch of new cards supported so it may even be completely irrelevant to have this done no?

Yeah it does not work properly at all, I have had it make files that resolve then cant see?? I also want to know best practices for re-connecting a project to the trimmed files, should be seamless but I have found that the collected/trimmed r3d’s don’t reconnect to my project as expected. Maybe I am doing somethign wrong, I noticed the resolve collect instructions say to remove the clips from the media pool and then add the trimmed/collected version but that makes me nervous to damage my project.
Really what I would like to see and am requesting for V10 is a collect function like that app on the itunes store. Like many post-applications being able to collect files w/ handles etc to archive a projects footage is really important. We need options in this as well and an easy way to open projects and reconnect footage to the trimmed down collected versions.
Also, when reconnecting files don’t force me to go one file directory location at a time, i want to highlight all the clips in my media pool and point to the new location and have it just find the clips!
Thanks!!!

Thanks for the fast reply. I was looking at that card too but I only have 1080 dslr work really on this box and this card is like half the cost with no need for external power etc.

BMD if you are reading this, everyone wants this feature added to Resolve 10, many of the other application we use in post already have this function so PLEASE add this functionality with options if you haven’t already included this.
Thank you

I bet the ‘.mov’ extension isn’t on the files, add that extension to the files if they don’t have it already.

Ok great but will there be any difference or advantage to using one over the other for gui considering my planned upgrade.

hi peter,
thank you for the response! The 580 is the standard evga 3GB PC card so there is no boot screen. I am a little confused by that recommend but also you mention mixing gpu but if I have say 2 titans in the cubix and always keep that check box unchecked to use GUI for gpu hey would it matter about which GUI I use? This also begs the question of how the 580 is any better in that it and the 680 are still lesser than the Titan. Can you just clarify.

So i figured out that the sequence tab has to be selected in order to just get that sequences xml – which is a bit confusing i would say for a fcp7 user.
The problem of the quicktime export being a frame off for each edit point and each clip itself STILL exists…not sure what is going on as both are 23.98.
