Adobe really needs to develop its own DNxHD/ProRes substitute or push for FCP Unity to be replaced with Pr.
Native playback of high bitrate files still results in lag, unfortunately. Both DNX and ProRes.

I’ve been using Adobe Media Encoder for about 2 years. Made the switch from Compressor when we began exporting BluRays to Encore.
In a hurry? Drop into After Effects and render with multiprocessing. Careful about the TC.

There is a script for AE that can (apparently) split layers when it detects a scene change in an edit. The link to the script is here.> https://aescripts.com/magnum-the-edit-detector/
That would work, but your handles aren’t coming for the ride.
1) Use an “Export>Batch List” file from FCP7 as a template.
2) Open Text Edit
3) Manually input data from FCPX.
4) Open in FCP7, export XMLWE’LL DO IT LIVE

It goes back a bit further… posted in 2005 to lafcpug.
Steve gave me permission to post this. He has taken the job as Sr. Product Manager for FCP.
Interesting times ahead.———————–
The main reason this is good is because Apple is putting in someone with a professional video background coupled with extensive product background. This bucks the trend, where such a job is often held by, at worst, a marketing guy and, at best, a software engineer. Almost never a post-production veteran.
In addition, Steve has always made it a point to take the input from users and customers
and to try to implement those ideas into the product. I think this is a good sign for FCP owners and editors, since it reinforces Apple’s commitment to the pro video marketplace.Since Steve is largely reponsible for the Symphony color-correction workflow, I hope we’ll see improved color-correction routines in future versions of FCP, among other things.
Interesting indeed…

If he were saying “most of us at [Apple vendor] believe so-and-so”, that would be a different story. He’s entitled to an individual opinion outside of work. You were the person who pointed out the connection, and if this were to gain press, it would probably be your fault. Oh, the irony.

Ha! Spielberg’s name has been removed. We had an influx of German signatures and that one slipped through. Approval has been active since Steve Jobs signed twice.
I searched the list and your name wasn’t posted. If anyone else would like their name searched, please let me know.
Based on the press coverage and twitter activity, the figures are correct (or you can consider it ballpark figure). Apple is being pressured to respond to a very agressive petition, which wasn’t written for an easy response.
You’re right about the clones. I spoke to a few market analysts who said “hardware” as every third word while describing Apple.

Mike-
Phillip sent me (petition creator) an extremely immature all-caps email regarding his signature being added. As if I can control who adds names. The tweets and blog posts are out of line. If he would like to debate whether or not that’s true, I’ll be happy to share it, complete with email headers.
Phillip Hodgetts, Steve Jobs, Randy Ubelos and other names have been removed. Obviously they’re not going to sign.
If your name has appeared without approval, you can contact me (alandini@gmail.com) or support@petitiononline.com and it will be removed.
Search the social web for activity and you’ll see that this petition is indeed real.

Coverage on CNN Money, The Washington Post and CNET means Apple is listening and has seen the petition. They have been requested for comment by the press multiple times.
You bet there will be follow-up stories if this hits 15,000. It was national news at 600.
Is the wording perfect? No, but it gets the point across.
