FCP7 to FCPX is like going from a manual transmission to an automatic. The car won’t drive itself in either case, but you’re not winning any competitive races in an automatic.

Editing a show like Pawn Stars? Sure. Editing an Audi USA commercial? Heck no.

  • You mean like “You Suck at Photoshop” but instead, “Final Cut Pro X Sucks at You”.

Oh man, we’re onto something. Call the investors.

Phil, you’re absolutely right. A lot of editors are getting behind on projects arguing about this release. Time to get back to work.

Of course everyone is right in saying it won’t do anything… We’re dealing with Apple here! 😉

The petition is a goodbye letter with a few over-the-top requests. The original told them to sell FCP7 to Adobe, so nothing was expected from the beginning. Maybe Avid will think twice about releasing Media Composer as Media Composer X based on Windows Movie Maker. Ha!

PS. Thanks Nigel. Pleasure to meet you too.

Hey, we’re at 15 signatures and counting. Another 9,985 and we could make a small dent. Heck, Steve might even read half of the first sentence.
