Well from my experience, the camera raw plug-in for AE7 is differn’t from the updated raw camera plug-in for PS that you can download from adobe.com.
I tried to put the PS version in to AE with no luck using my 30D which shoots CR2 format which is a slightly newer generation than the previous Raw converter used in AE 7.
Until they update the raw view for AE you’ll need to use PS actions to conver the files into something AE can handle. If you click on that andrew kramer character there is a tutorial on how to batch convert images… You can set the action to ignore import dialog boxes to bypass the raw window, just make sure you record an action with the process of opeing the raw so it will use all of your raw conversion settings, just don’t use any automatic switches do it manually with exact values for exposure ans contrast etc.
Also microsoft raw viewer plug-in also needs updating for the 30D and a few other cameras as well…

Assuming you exported it correctly by adding a proper cadence during rendering of your 23.97 timeline… You can import the footage and let AE “guess” it through the interpret footage settings.

Reset your prefs, hold down ctrl option and shift during AE restart and purge settings…

In the little wing arrow to the right is it set to show “animation Presets”
When you scroll down to text presets is it there?

What is your source material? Progressive is best if you shot progressive…

Try changing mode to soft light or hard light, whichever it isn’t.

Particular will work well for this, in fact there is a preset and all you would need to do is increase the velocity a little and keyfram the particles per second from a few hundred to 0 so it is sudden.

Unlikely. I think you mean sony nightshot where the infra-red light reflects off everyones eyes… Maybe try tinting sepia and going for the artistic look.

For some reason I thought you were using vector paint. But Rork’s way is great, I’ve also exported a transparent png frame from an empty comp and made the png rgb+alpha. Basically import this as a still frame and it works like footage except it’s completly transparent.
