Thank you for all your help, really appreciated.
I didn’t notice anything strange on the surface of the dvd. But i think it might be a good idea to replace the burner
this is the first time i heard about the udf format, isn’t it the default option? i tried to look for a menu and didn’t find.
My original footage was dvcprohd 720p, encoded in premiere cs3
as 6kbps cbr. Then built direct to disk in encore cs3 with no menus.
My system specs:
windows vista bus 64
dual quadcore xeon 3200ghz
nvidia quadrofx 4600
16gb ram
hope that helps and thanks a lot guys. -

I’ll try to burn them again slower and see. -

Thank you Shane for your quick and detailed response. I don’t use FCP so I’d like someone that uses premiere to jump in and tell me their workflow.Like when i check the contents folder in my p2 card it is like you said in order 001GK,002FG etc but when i import them to premiere, some are in order and then a sequence of three clips or just a single clip from other parts of the shooting pops in here and there making my life hell sometimes. I know that with tape we need to capture so we have to watch our whole footage before we start to edit but isn’t it one of the reasons why we change to p2? Like a lot of what i do is to cover events and then make a digest of 5 min in chronological order so i don’t really need to check let’s say my 150 cuts before i start editing, i watch them as i go but if they are not completely in order it makes me waste a big time checking them. And time is money.
Thanks again and hope others can help me out too. -
Thanks Vince, I’ll try that as soon as i can. I’ve watched the video and there is one detail i’d like to know:
In the video he uses the extension .avi Does this have to be the source video format? Because my files are in the MXF format so should i type name.mxf ?
Just another simple question. My footage was shot in progressive 24p mode and i’m encoding to blu-ray ntsc. So in Adobe media encoder, does the framerate have to be 23.976 or 29.97? And should i check the field order to progresive scan?
Thank you very much for the quick response and hope i can solve my problem and in the future, be able to help some one in my situation. -
Thank you Dan, but I’ve already seen this page that looks like to be the only one talking about the error.
My hard drives aren’t full and i’m not dealing with any quick time files.
My video is in MXF P2 format and I wan’t to encode it in MPEG2 bluray. -

October 3, 2008 at 5:48 pm in reply to: Is anybody using Windows xp/vista 64bit with AE?Thanks for the responses!
The reason I have only 4gigs of RAM is just because there is no point on adding more if working in 32 bit, I’m hungry for more RAM!
I’m happy with the good news from you guys.
But what about the AE plugins and boujou?
Also I don’t quite get it about the quicktime in C4D. Do you mean it doesn’t render properly in QT format?
And I’d really like to know what the masters have to say about it? Ahron,Eran I’m you guys fan!
Thanks everybody, hope more people hop in! -
Thanx for the light speed response man, but I found out what was wrong. Although I could write in Japanese in the text box I found that in the windows font box there was no Japanese characters font in there…weird, so how can I write then I thought. But downloaded japanese fonts on the net, installed them and it works now.
I guess the japanese writing mode we install from windows has nothing to do with the fonts directory. Good to know now.
Thanks again!
