For anyone who would like to try his best in converting the MXF files created by Hyperdeck here is a 10 second clip, that was recorded by a Hyperdeck Studio in DNxHD mode.
If someone finds a way to convert these MXF files into a format that can be used by other apps like PPro or AFX, please let me know.

If you create a new sequence in Premiere you should have a preset that is named “Blackmagic” within that you can select multiple formats (SD HD…).
Create a blackmagic Timeline and you get your SDI output.

so when can we expect a fix for the audio/video sync issue? Right now the product is totally unusable in DNxHD mode.
We need the fix as soon as possible.

Buy a Atem TV-Studio for less money with more options.

You could pay another 200 bucks and buy a license of “Calibrated MXF Ultilitys”. That is a conversion utility that supports (in the new Beta version that will be released soon) the Hyperdeck MXF files.
If you install the utility you can drag and drop the MXF files right into Premiere without any conversion.

Hey Jim,
the product is called “Camera Converter” and “Studio Converter”. The Television Studio is a vision mixer.
With professional wireless systems latency isn’t an issue anymore. They offer less then 1ms of latency but I don’t think you could use more than 4 systems at once. You will get lots of problems if you go all wireless. And the professional systems are really expensive. They go from 6000$ to 50.000$ and more. I don’t know if that is the way to go for you.
The suggestion to do this via fiber is a really good one. Have a look at the mentioned BMD Camera Converters. They will give you anything you need. Allthough it would be better to use an BMD Atem mixer with them as the Atem mixers provide the tally information in their output SDI signal and the Tricaster does not.

January 20, 2012 at 12:23 pm in reply to: Hyperdeck Studio MXF files: audio out of sync in AvidHi Chris,
too bad to hear that this issue is not solved with Beta2. I will install the new firmware today and report what happens with our Hyperdeck. I’m in 50Hz land (Germany) too, so I don’t expect any other results than you. Too bad!

January 19, 2012 at 11:05 am in reply to: Premier Pro cs5.5 and Decklink not workingHi,
you have to use a “Decklink” Timeline in Premeiere CS5.5 in order to use the SDI outputs of the card.
If you create a new timeline you should see a “Decklink” section there and if you click thle little plus you see many different formats like SD and HD. Just create a Decklink timeline and start editing. Your Decklink outputs should work then.
