thats weird, I was fairly certain they do. Or am I just confusing camera tracking with Rotoscoping?

Can you track via Mocha? I have done some tracking before, but I’m not sure how to approach that…

Is there any free alternative?

hate to be snarky or rude, but have you ruled out building the computer yourself, or is that part of the “under the hood it’s all greek to me,” concept? 😛

September 24, 2011 at 7:46 pm in reply to: Importing mp4 into mocha resulting in Black Screen/No FootageIm in AE on Win7 and I tried ctrl-alt-G and nothing worked. I did go to comp settings (ctrl k) to make sure it was at 15 fps.
I took a screenshot just to show you. Note the timeline on the bottom and see how there’s this discrepancy between the frames ending and the actual composition. I have tried to rectify this by entering in the number of frames (73 in this case) in the timecode duration, but it always converts it to a wrong time duration (around 00:00:03:01)so I end up manually entering in an end time approximately in sync with when the actual frame sequence ends.

Yes, I tried JPEG Sequence and it DOES work, BUT it produces all these frames. And why is it that when I render the JPEG sequence, I start out with 73 frames (basically 73 pictures) and then when rendered I get around 40 to 53 depending on speed of FPS?

thank you for the link. I entered the number of frames in the duration (in this case, 73)and AE set the timeline to 3 seconds and 10 frames, when the real timeline is apparently 2 seconds and 9 frames. If left alone, this would produce about a second of black screen.

So what would I be trying to “do” within Mocha? I have the Mocha add-on, but what am I going for exactly? If not a track-matte, what?

September 17, 2011 at 2:59 am in reply to: Three Questions: Rendering and Excluding Areas from Keyingdo you know of any tutorial videos to point me in creating a “tracking and/or animating” garbage mask?

September 7, 2011 at 7:34 pm in reply to: Three Questions: Rendering and Excluding Areas from KeyingYes, you’re are right. That is precisely what I needed. I think for when the figurine is “in motion” I’ll need to figure out how to do an animated garbage mask
