It depends where the subtitles should be used. For DVD or BluRay export an EDL for subtiles.
Import into Excel in clean up the times there till you have only tc in tc out and the subtitle file name in each row. Then add a prefix like _#_ to each to each subtitle file name.
Create a new folder and export the Excel file as comma separated list into this folder. Copy the pngs into the same folder. Open the list in a text editor and add a line before the first line: $SetFilePathToken = _#_Your STL for DVDs is ready. Apple DVDSP

In most cases it’s a folder named “DCIM” on the root level of the drive.

Definitively a very good tool. But in Noam’s case not the right one, since you loose the information once you drop a clip in the timeline.

I agree with both answers somehow. But i wouldn’t use the FCPX camera archives never ever!
Later below why. First a really reliable workflow – in case your data are valuable for you.Use DiskUtility to copy your cards to an “archive drive” NOT the Finder. In DiskUtility choose the ISO option. Using this method first makes a secure copy and keeps the file system of the card intact. Finder will make nearly secure copy and destroys the file system of the card.
Now that you have archived this card copy the archive to a working device/drive, Mount it and import clips. These clips are saved in the FCPX library structure dependend in your setup. When done unmount the card. NO NEED for a camera archive.Search the forums for “trouble with FCPX camera archives”. You’ll find quite lot, most of them are long cause there was no simple solution in most cases.
Search the web for “trouble with camera card”. You’ll find more, most if not all of them are short cause there are lots of reliable repair tools across platforms – but they only will work with the ISO copy of your card.So it’s up to you to choose a workflow.

P.S. one of the authors of these FCPX books send me an urgent mail a time ago. He asked whether I can fix some camera cards he used for his book. As a experienced expert should have been a snip of fingers for him????

As Shane said: Lumberjack can be an option, CatDV as well.
But that’s probably not the solution you want at a first glimpse.
I think you are looking for a solution to view the transcript in FCPX. Tell me if I’m wrong.In latter case have a look whether either of them has the option to add new metadata to the clips which can be made somehow visible in FCPX.
Unfortunately I don’t know a lot about any of those apps.As a temporary solution you might create a kind of “home brew solution”. Finally there are 2 of these.
The simple one.
In the event browser make the column “Notes” visible, same in timeline index.
Now you can paste your transcripts into these fields it needed. Though they are still not visible while editing.
To change that (in case you want) attach a Title to the clip, copy the content from the notes field and pate into the title’s text.
The advantage of this method is that this text is searchable in the timeline and timeline index.The second one.
In Inspector switch to the Info view. Select a setting i.e. General. Add a new custom entry. Type in for example “Caption Data” for both fields.
Save the view under a new name.
Then paste the data into field in the Inspector.
Proceed as above.
The advantage here: the data will be embedded into the clips metadata. But they are not searchable.– Andreas

In theory Premiere could handle parts of it.
I had no success with some older versions and quite a lot of people I know don’t have either.You can ask the question on the Premiere forum or the CC forum.

SCC is for the NTSC world.
Compressor with the MXF Apple component can’t create embedded subtitles with the MXF. There are some US broadcasters (like Fox) who also accept EBU TTML as sidecar files.
EBU is European but in a modern world DF and NDF frame rates don’t matter any more.With FCPX use a simple (sub)title template which doesn’t “eat” too much memory. The Apple Basic Title is hungry.
Many users see speed and memory improvements if the subtitles are in a compound clip.
This has to do with FCPX’s memory handling – it keeps undo memory buffer for each and every title with all settings.-Andreas

Mpeg Stream Clip allows ProRes here – no problem.
