I’m not familar with Encore,
but comparing both durations seems to reflect nearly the same ratio when comparing 23,976 & 29,976 fps!
Maybe pulldown information in your file has been wrong flagged?
Or is it Encore can’t deal correctly with pulldowned files?
Just an idea…Andreas Gumm

Your comment is related to discs authored for replication (should be playable on every player). OK, but my suggestion is not against DVD spec. I just tried to outline a way & I just assumed the disc is for a special presentation purpose! Shure, this has never been mentioned so my suggestion may will not match the client’s needs by 100% but the result would be close to what the threada starter wants.
He can take the choice depending on the client’s needs!
If the disc should work on every available player by start via PLAY button, OK, that is simply not possible!
If it should work at least on selected players, OK you can find some which would do that so!I have authored a very similar disc with a the same simple navigation mode for a museum.
The client’s demand was to start the program by hitting the PLAY button on players front panel.
The realization was as simple as described here in thread!
We just have tested many players on the market to take care of it will work! Not every disc is for mass replication.

Many players will start action of the pre-selected button if play button is pushed!
It really depends on the player!Andreas Gumm

It will not work the way you want
You can’t assign a specific action to the button you want directly! If the subtitle track is assigned to track 2 you can realize what you want by a simple trick:
– create a title containing track 1
– add a button with 100% transparency over the whole screen size to the full lenght of the video
– assign 100% transparency to all the button states
– make the button pre selected by delfault
– link the button to track 2Since play button on remote control will work like an ENTER button while the disc plays a menu, track 2 will be started after pushing PLAY!

Could you give us more informations?
Which authoring system are you using?Usually something like your loop track 1 will be defined as menu!
Play button is linked to track 2 which is defined as title.
At the end of playback it links back to the menu! There is no need to script something!

February 21, 2012 at 7:13 pm in reply to: Extract Audio / Vidéo from Blu-Ray for Authoring and re-encodingI agree with Eric in principal,
but the thread starter has just asked for how extracting streams from BluRay for re-using it in Encore to create a new one!
If the picture quality looks good I would give it a try, maybe Encore accept the demuxed elementary streams without re-encoding!
Generally best quality can be archived from file when encoding 2-pass VBR.I presumed here that BD compliancy is out of question, simply a matter of course! 😉

February 21, 2012 at 4:38 pm in reply to: Extract Audio / Vidéo from Blu-Ray for Authoring and re-encodingSimply demux the original 0000.M2TS file from “BDMVSTREAM”-folder on your disc with TSMuxer 1.10.6!

Story = Playlist!
Scripting is not the one and only RIGHT WAY, it’s just one of two different ways!
Scripting is more complicated for less experienced users.
So realizing it by playlist / mutlti story can archive what he want without scripting in a reliable way!
Using a playlist or what you called “story” (is called different in authoring applications) will not consume extra space on disc if some rules will be respected because the abstraction layer gives sometimes unwanted side effects.
I’m using Scenarist & I really know what scripting is! 😉Andreas Gumm

Just create two playlists from the movie with different end actions and link each of them with the desired buttons in the desired menu insteed of linking the movie!

December 15, 2011 at 7:45 pm in reply to: FFMPEG supports now 10bit ProRes HQ de- & encodingThanks a lot for your fast reply!
The codec I use is not supported by FFMPEG!
It’s a proprietary HQ codec from GrassValley, great in quality but not free & not available for programmers! Sadly… 😉Cheers
