  • Super thanks for your answer and so swiftly as it worked like a charm. For any newbies out there, “Opening up both projects at the same time” means (in other words) to have both projects open in minimized windows so that you see both project at the same time (same instance). When you can see both projects side-by-side, that’s when you can drag and drop the bins from one to the other.

  • Hey Drake. What are the “handfull” of plugins that you have for Vegas Pro 11 which help you with production and why? Thanks!

  • I’m having the same problem and looking for a solution. In my case, I was capturing a cassette and when I came back to the camera after being away for about 30 minutes of the process, the camera seemed to have overheated which is to say it was very hot and would not turn off. Removing the battery was the only way to reset the camera and now the LCD works but the tape inside won’t eject. It’s stuck inside and it has some important client content. I’m so bummed and all while I can a FS CF Pro in the mail. I’m so bummed. How do I get this tape out? I guess Canon or an authorized service center is the only way.

I’ve been chasing my tail on this one for hours. About to check into an insane asylum. The VAAST web cite clearly suggests this cool extension software will support Sony Vegas Pro 8 or better. I’m running Sony Vegas Pro 9C 64.

The only piece of info on this road that seems useful:

“Adi, I owe you an apology. Notepad is the only VASST freeware tool that never got updated for use with Pro 9. I was positive that I had it running with Pro 9 but I just checked and it was Pro 8, not 9 that I have it installed on.”

Can any of you smart guys out there confirm whether or not I am SOL. Grrrr. I was really looking forward to trying the software with a current project.

    Are there any other options?

I downloaded the freeware from Vaast (Thanks Mike!). I’m running Vegas Pro 9 but the freeware (Notepad) can’t see it. When I select the exe file for installation I get a message saying I don’t have Vegas 8 or better and the Wizard never engages. Strangeley, like I’ve indicated, I’m running Vegas Pro 9. Any clues on how I get Notepad to see that I’m actually running Pro 9?

Thanks guys! I appreciate the responses and the Forum!! In this case, this issue stopped me dead in my tracks after several long hours into the project and I wasn’t do anything differenty when it happened from the previous hours. In my desperation, I came across a document at Adobe that outlined 14 steps to troubleshoot the OpenGL issue. I went through each one and it was the very last one (#14) that cleared the problem, which involved having to “Rename the Adobe AE 8.0 Prefs. txt” in the “C:\Users\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\After Effects\8.0 folder” to “re-create the AE preferences.” Deep understanding of this issue is beyond my grasp, but I think it has something to do with Graphics Card memory but I’m not sure. Here’s the link that was helpful to me in this case: http.kb2.adobe.com/cps/402/kb402244.html

  • Thanks, Michael. I’m all over the tutorials. Any more details on the “Total Training AE” DVD tutorials to which you referred? Thx.

  • Kevin:

It worked! I’m out of steam for the moment but I’m going to take the project further tommorrow first thing. But, I copied/duplicated the composition, just like your instructions, then dragged the copied comp in to the timeline; then changed the picture of each of the new comp clips and none of the other independent clips were effected. I really think holding the “alt” key down when dragging heped me a lot. I think I was missing that step in my earlier efforts. Many thanks.

  • Dave:

I followed your steps but was not successfuly. I may have misunderstood something along the way. If you can stomach it, I’ve prepared another video to show you the steps I made following your instructions. I should mention that I tried Kevin’s method and it worked perfectly. So, I’m in good shape (for the moment at least). So, to the extent you had time, I’d like to know if I followed something wrong in your instructions and if I could consider your technic in the future, etc. Thanks again. (Oh, and what was not included in the video, (“Synchronize all time-related items”)…that box was already checked but I did follow that step to make sure, as well.
