Chapter Description and Printing of them
Here’s one I think is appropriate for this forum:
I want to type text into a chapter marker description, like a script for voice-over work, for example, and afterwards, when I’m all done, print out all the notes/text within the chapter markers. Such a function would be helpful in preparing a script to be read by an announcer. In my case I’m doing this with about 15 minutes of videos and there are many video clips involved requiring specific audio requirements and the timing of them, etc.
Does anyone feel me on this?
If I can’t do it the way I want…does anyone have another idea that may be able to help and just as well.

If you have Vegas Pro, an even better idea is to grab Notepad (it’s free) from the folks at VASST.
I have it and use it quite a bit.The description for it reads:
As the name implies, Notepad is a place where you can maintain notes about your project. These notes can be saved in the project file or as a separate RTF document along side the project file. Because Notepad is a Vegas Command Extension, it is a dockable window that can be placed in the dock alongside the other Vegas tabbed windows. It can remain always open in Vegas Pro and will auto-load your notes with your projects. -
View>Edit Details
There you can edit the markers and copy them to any text editor for printing -
I downloaded the freeware from Vaast (Thanks Mike!). I’m running Vegas Pro 9 but the freeware (Notepad) can’t see it. When I select the exe file for installation I get a message saying I don’t have Vegas 8 or better and the Wizard never engages. Strangeley, like I’ve indicated, I’m running Vegas Pro 9. Any clues on how I get Notepad to see that I’m actually running Pro 9?

I’ve been chasing my tail on this one for hours. About to check into an insane asylum. The VAAST web cite clearly suggests this cool extension software will support Sony Vegas Pro 8 or better. I’m running Sony Vegas Pro 9C 64.
The only piece of info on this road that seems useful:
“Adi, I owe you an apology. Notepad is the only VASST freeware tool that never got updated for use with Pro 9. I was positive that I had it running with Pro 9 but I just checked and it was Pro 8, not 9 that I have it installed on.”
Can any of you smart guys out there confirm whether or not I am SOL. Grrrr. I was really looking forward to trying the software with a current project.
Are there any other options?

Andre, I keep hoping John Rofrano will chime in here as he works for VASST.
I did a search on another forum and it turns out that Notepad is one of the few free apps that they haven’t gotten around to updating for newer 32 and 64 bit versions of Vegas.
One suggested workaround is to copy the files from the Pro 8 location to “Vegas Pro\Application Extensions” with no version number.
If you don’t have Pro 8, this is no help to you. -
