    hi elan,

i transcode every canon footage with mpeg streamclip, it’s fast, has a good quality and a batch list.

    it’s better for editing anyway…

    hi!

as far as i renember the second slot is only for the hdmi connections, perhaps you don’t need or you do find another solution for that…. (drilling 🙂

and, before i updated to decklink hd 3, i had the intensity pro in, and i am quite sure davinci started with it! although i haven’t tested this setup, perhaps someone else here has?

cant you change the aspect ration at the timeline format?

    the options should be:
    square pixel
    16:9 anamorphic
    4:3 standard def
    cinemascope

    and:
have you tried the input scaling options at the same config screen?

absolutely right! this is kinda annoying -> pushing buttons on the wave and then have to use the mouse again for clicking the tab!

in the case it is interlaced,
you got to enable both fields in the settings ->
else the picture might seem blurry because you are using half of the resolution.

that’s at least what i think.

    hi all!

kevin is right. if you are unsure about how you have to deliver your final dpx output ask your lab.

and if you need log2lin conversion go with the 3dluts provided by arri on their website! worked for me during a small test with alexa and d21 material with logc basis.

the exact difference between the two luts you’ve mentioned would be interesting though. their names would suggest that one just cuts at the given boundaries and the other one scales the image down to fit in those boundaries. but when i tried it, i really couldnt see any difference on the scopes. only if i make a manual lut on the basis of one of the mentioned luts it seems to scale…

so far i ended up with not using them and staying in normal range mode, for the projects i have been working on so far all rendered out in pro res 422 hq and therefore is scaled automatically…

    thx g

yes, i know this would be the alternative workflow. but i also think davinci should speed up the audio by 4.1% automatically if i switch to 25fps…

    strange it doesn’t…
