thx michael for the update! my last info was that the problem lies within resolve, not neat.

i am a wave and jl-cooper user, and hell yes, i would LOVE custom mapping!

and it is true, bm never responded to all this threads. but why do you think
they aren’t? what is this supposed to mean?

that are your options in resolve! in resolve 10 there are a lot of things very nle-similiar, finsihing-wise. of course, you have to deal with the limitaions of your machine, gpu, cpu, hdds etc.
but if it is not that kind of realtime 4k powerhorse, just render small parts and check the sync in realtime-hd. there is still the render-cache, and all the options mentioned before.

it might be inconvient, but think of it: you have very high expectations! finsihing in 4k with limited hardware – hell it is possible! and yes, you might have to make some compromises workflow/realtime-wise…

and smoke won’t change your hardware-limits either. if it is a red project, render it in 4k-dpx and make yourself some hd-proxies to stay realtime and check everything. then render 4k.

why not finish in resolve? what does “it is hard for me” actually mean?

i am faster on the wave than on the elements, which is sad but true.
therefore i invested in a used jlcooper, but there are also some things
    missing mappingwise.

i totally agree that theoretically it would be good to have a standard-mapping
and a colorist who knows the board can chime in anytime and begin to work. but
in my reality that is a very rare situation, and missing some basic function,
again mappingwise, i use in my everyday grading-live is a bad trade-off…

so PLEASE blackmagic, make the effort soon, make the different panels customizable,
i guess the majority of us would love it!!!

ps: who is mapping the panels right now? the manufactor? a bmd-colorist? a bmd-technician?
    a mix?

  • i am sorry guys! originally i thought the solution to my problem would have something to do with upgrading to 10.9, but i never meant to hijack this thread. i am no terrorist, at least not on puropose…

    so, sorry again sascha 🙁
    and juan thx nevertheless 🙂

    over and out

  • its a hack, but that wasn’t the problem. i just had to click on use display gpu for compute then it showed both cards.

on resolve 9 it always showed both cards under preferences, hence i thought there was a problem of detecting the second titan!

juan, is opencl working for you in mountain lion? i am just wondering because therefore an update to 10.9 could resolve this, am i right?

    many openfx plugins use opencl.

@blackmagic: should i put another card in (i have two spare gtx480 and a gtx580) to gain considerably performance on the gpu-titan?

  • osx 10.8.5, full resolve 10beta. not appstore update. i will post my driver versions tomorrow, and will have a look into the windows partition as well…
