ok, to me this is good news 🙂
my last info was that osx refuses external graphic cards at all (via thunderbolt).

    so, just to be clear:
the external cards only work with “pci-exress-card extender”, not with thunderbolt, right?
and the limitation of 2 is just a limitation of external cards, so two internally and two externally
    are possible?

i haven’t looked into the external options yet, because i still don’t need them, but i would like
to know the options (eg for my macbookpro when doing DIT stuff…)

  • looks like a too hot graphic card to me!!!

plz, more details! noone can answer that question…

i never had this issue and i am in since resolve 7, so
most likely no davinci issue i would say, but if you
expect an answer, please share more infos, check
in various programs, tell us where you see it (sdi,
    quicktime player etc)…

    wtf 🙂

    https://www.colorwiki.com/wiki/Metamerism_Article

obama etc.: its irony i guess!

ps: this has NOTHING to do with color blindness. in
my opinion it is a hoax… and yes, i admit, i do see
a white cloth with golden elements, so shame on
    me 🙂

February 27, 2015 at 10:05 pm in reply to: Anyone using the GTX980 with Resolve?

i am using two titans and never had a problem with
running out of gpu memory. due to a broken pci-e
port, my last 4k project was finished even with one
titan only, and again, besides of the need of caching
on heavy corrected shots, no problems either…

so this option could also be considered from my
    point of view!

thx for the link! very informative 🙂

  • thank you very much for testing sascha!

the workaround gets of course into problems, when you try to animate a title in davinci!
    (eg. animating a movie title!)

so i would stick to the term BUG 🙂

i posted an odd behaviour of davinci concerning embedding graphics with alpha channel a couple
of posts ago, sadly noone tried it out on their machines with the tiff i provided yet 🙁

but another question: since when avid can export a proper alpha channel? last time i checked i wasn’t
able to do so. how did you do it?

  • try it with this random tif with alpha:
    https://84.112.19.19:5000/fbsharing/aVMlJUnl

and put it in a hd project. put it above pure white or a bright screen.
make it fit your timeline (via image sizing or manually), you will be
able to see small steps and dirty outlines. or won’t you?

then try it again in a different software and see if it looks the same! plz!
