Any luck with solving this? I’m having a similar issue in FCP 7 and using Matrox MX02 LE. Just updated to most recent driver for my OS (Lion) and maybe only a slight improvement, if any.

I am using fw800 connection for both laptop and desktop. Desktop is 2009 mac pro. I tried both the rear and front ports and tried different cables. I have not tried to use this drive in a few months so it is just now that i am noticing the iissue. Shows up fine with macbook pro. I will try another firewire drive with the mac pro to see if it is an overall issue…

I was looking into the sonnet echo but didnt see an express card to use with it for mini sas. Do you know of one? Thanks

Good thought for long term. Great for me, not so great for him I think. If I’m going to get a firewire drive, I’d rather get one that is enclosed so that it is less intimidating for him as he’s not very tech savvy, and also more portable. Thanks for the thought. I’ll keep it in mind.

I totally agree. I’ve been trying to get him to switch away from vegas because it has been a pain- and useless on my end. He’s now willing to switch but just when i am thinking of switching away from fcp. Just didn’t know if there was something simple that i am not aware of that could easily send a simple cut to avid without him having the avid learning curve and cost.
I’m sure it’s a longshot. Avid doesn’t seem very friendly for sharing off location regardless.

I actually have a broadcast monitor ordered but don’t have it on hand yet so I am looking at it on 30″ HP monitor. I figured this is best solved by looking at the broadcast monitor but thought I might be able to get a jump on thinking it through in case I have to go there. Hopefully it looks a lot better on the new monitor!

Thanks. I will check it out. I really don’t know how it was converted. The post house that had the project before is now out of business.

Any updates on this? I just installed the R380 and have the loud fan noise, but don’t see the plist files mentioned.
