I’ve checked sequence settings, trashed user preferences, copy and pasted to a new timeline – still no luck.

I don’t understand because when I first started working on the project I was able to hear all tracks and edit. I haven’t changed anything.

Any ideas on what would cause this to happen?

I was able to solve the problem. It turns out the timeline was 1440 x 1080 – I recreated the project in 1920 x 1080 and was able to export.

The clip seems to work fine though? Why isn’t it acceptable? Is that why I can’t change the aspect ratio?

There’s over 12 clips that I’ve used in the timeline so before I convert and recreate I just want to be sure.

    Thanks for your help.

I ended up creating a new project. Same files, same settings, and that worked.

I still don’t understand what went wrong but I’m glad to have found a work-around.

    Thanks everyone for your suggestions!

Now that I have managed to render the sequence, I’m getting the same error on exporting to Quick Time using H.264. I’ve tried exporting to several different hard drives with no success.

    Any suggestions?

I ended up just starting over for the sake of my sanity. 😉

I created a new project, using the exact same files, names, settings, hard drives, etc.. and I was able to render this time.

I’m still interested in finding out why this would happen just in case it ever happens again down the road so if anyone has any ideas about it, let me know!!

    Thanks for your help.

I’m not offended at all. I appreciate any help at this point!

I’m exporting to a Quick Time file using H.264 but I can’t get to the export stage. Right now all I’m trying to do is render out the file.

Since I posted, I went back to one of the sequences that I had no problems rendering earlier, made a change, then tried Render All and got the same error.

    All file names are fine.

As I mentioned, I checked the file names for illegal characters. I’m French, not dumb.
