    I didn’t understand what you couldn’t do.. If I am wrong please feel free to correct me ok? But If want to do a remake of “Storm Watch” video, just animate the text like “storm watch” in a precomp, then make the precomp as a 3D layer. so now you just need to play around the z-scale. that’s all..

    sorry I am late.. ok, it is possible.. is it a shoot from a car or walking or track railer something? for this reason you may use sky replacement. If I have a chance to see only one caps, I think I can give some instructions. or you can link to me the 2 second of footage then I can tell you more properly.. It’s not too hard mate, but takes some time..

    (If I’ve understood in the right way). If your comp is 3D just place lensflare in front of sky BG just about 1-2 pxs (z scale). then the camera movements will be ok. For the Optical Flares you should parent it to a light, so you may place the light in front of sky BG.. ( here is a similar example. after 36th second you may see.. https://reels.creativecow.net/film/presentation-demo-of-sinamasal-rto-by-alperen-t-ayhan )

    this may work for you: duplicate layer( or comp) and draw a mask with pen tool around clean area. make only that layer 3D, create a new camera then play around the depth of field by keyframing. you will have the same focusing settings…

    Like Tudor’s said; it simple math and observe.. ( sorry for my English) Here is the technic: when front leg on the floor accept a keyframe to the position x of the BG layer. go forward until front leg becomes back leg. accept a keyframe to the position x of the BG layer and bring it back exactly where the front leg (now it is back leg) stepped before.. and go on like this until finish the animation..

    April 7, 2010 at 9:55 am in reply to: What setting to shoot a marathon race ?

    that’s just in my opinion;

    1-) Shutter speed should be 60 or 100 (also you may choose 50 too..)
    2-) It’s up to result which you want.. So will it be a commercial or like home movies? Because AE can fix both and give best result.. It has wide range ability of compositing. I think you should shoot with sharp settings, progressive or 50i it doesn’t matter. You can add motion blur and make color corrections etc. while postproducing… Just be sure you catch the right pictures clearly 🙂
