  • That depends. Where is the final product going? Web? Broadcast? Presentation?

I have my department do everything at ProRes HQ 23.976 in Premiere.

But again, it depends on your deliverables.

This was happening to me to. It ended that I had my audio settings configured wrong, which fixed the problem.

For the quickest spacebar to playback I have my MacPro setup like this (in Preferences / Audio Hardware)
Adobe Desktop Audio: Built-in Line Output
    Buffersize: 64
Map Output For: Adobe Desktop Audio

Another editor here had it set to a USB sound output, and another to an AJA output… and those just really slowed down everything…

    See if that helps?

Curious too! I learned my lesson to wait on upgrades with 10.9.3.

Are you getting a PC because you want Windows — or for what reason?
For 8000 Pounds you can get a top of the line MacPro fully loaded that will run both Mac and Windows and perform like a CHAMP for years to come.

    Same issue here.
Works fine on my work 2013 MacPro (Dual D500)
Doesn’t open on my home 2010 iMac (ATI Radeon HD 5750)

Seems people have had issues with previous versions of Premiere, but none of the solutions seem to work.
It also completely crashes my system — to the point where I have to force reset after getting that error.

June 19, 2014 at 2:25 pm in reply to: Avid possibly?

Avid feels like a giant step backwards IMO. Just everything about it.

This is just how most NLEs work… and ProTools… Maybe Adobe should start certifying certain systems with their software, similar to what AVID does.

They say something like 7.2.2 is certified with 10.9.2
    Not certified with 10.9.3.

  • 2014 does not fix the issue. OS X 10.9.4 will.

Can you open a version 8 project in version 7?
