Hi, Big issues here starting up the CC 2014 programs. Everything seems to install fine on my 2012 Mac Pro with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 2048 MB video card.

Premiere CC 2014 takes more than 4 minutes to start up and finally gives the following message: “Adobe Premiere Pro could not find any capable video play modules. Please update your video display drivers and start again”. Same sort of thing with all the other Video apps (AE_ME_) Very slow startup. AE gives an message about missing QT components. Photoshop CC 2014 starts up fast but hangs with an spinning beach ball as soon as i move the mouse cursor. Seems like an issue with the display drivers? I also have a BMD Intensity pro card installed (latest driver). Luckily my ‘old’ CC programs are still there and work fine.

Anybody any idea’s before i try the long way of contacting Adobe?

    Regards,

    Stephan

Same problem here, maybe it’s our plugins? The only one I’m running that may affect it is red giants coloring suite…

Since Red Giant has advised not to update to 2014 until their plugins can be verified, you’re probably correct. Easy enough to check and see.

    Same issue here.
Works fine on my work 2013 MacPro (Dual D500)
Doesn’t open on my home 2010 iMac (ATI Radeon HD 5750)

Seems people have had issues with previous versions of Premiere, but none of the solutions seem to work.
It also completely crashes my system — to the point where I have to force reset after getting that error.

I had the same problem with my iMac late 2012 when launching Premiere Pro 2014. What I found with Adobe is that I needed to make sure that my permissions where correct for the user account. Before I changed the permissions all the new apps where taking forever to launch and sometimes they crashed the whole system without warning. I was also getting an error during the launch of AE but by changing the permissions it corrected the errors.

Here’s the process to change the permissions:

    Go>Go to Folder

then go to the hidden Library Folder

    type: ~/Libray

    then go to Preferences>Adobe folder

    Right click on Adobe Folder

    choose Get Info

and then add the user name under ‘Sharing and permissions’

and then chosse the ‘apply to enclosed items’ option

similarly you can add permissions on the Application folder of the program and the plug-in folder.

    Hope this helps!!

Same problem as y’all. Just trying to open Premiere 2014 pegs my processors to 100 percent for 5 minutes, it never opens, and can’t be force-quit. I have to do a full hard restart with the power button because it also disables restarting through the OS.

I just uninstalled Premiere 2014. All is back to normal.

I’ve been having the same issues. I followed Alex’s directions and it didn’t work. I called Adobe support and got something similar but this did the trick.

In the finder menu click and hold on the GO menu. Hold the option button and the User library will show up. Click the User Library.
In that folder go to preferences and find the adobe folder.
Right click on adobe folder and click get info.
In the Sharing & Permissions section there should be three names.
All should say Read & Write next to them.
Unlock the lock, switch them all to read and write.
Then click on the little gear directly under the names or to to the left of the lock and in the pulldown click on “apply to enclosed items.
    Then lock the lock again.

Now go to your OS Hardrive and click on Users, your user name, Documents.
    Find the adobe folder there.
    The lock the lock again.

Wait 1 minute. Then launch Premiere.
    This fixed it for me.
