    January 5, 2011 at 4:41 pm in reply to: PDW-U1 can´t write

    Thank you Ian,

    I have all new upgrades U1 v2.30, firmware 4.50.

Looking in the properties of all the folders, are read only.
I´m using win7 64-bit and if I go to the disk management I can see that the drive is read only.

I can not understand how I can write to it.
I know is that if I export a file IMX from any program other than the CS5, I can write the file in the U1, very strange…

    Cheers,

    Thank you Tim,

But I am using a Matrox MXO2 Mini that have no connection RS:422.
I remember that in CS3 or CS4 had an option to capture using a serial option “serial 422 UVW” but it disappeared in the CS5.

I have a Addenda USB-Serial adapter and a 9pin-422 cable that I tested with the program OCX422 and the UVW1800 and work.

    Hi Todd,

I’m still fighting with this box.

Now I have 5 drives in the array but still the same.

I actually got the card that came with the DS-500, a Sil3132 controller not the NORCO-4618 controller that I told you before.

Somebody told me that controller with only one port multiplication doesn’t raid well. The 300 MB/sec bandwidth of a single data cable through which the port multiplier connects will hold back simultaneous transfers as you add more drives to it.

    This is correct?

    Cheers,

    Nicky,

The controller card is a PCIe with the Sil3132 chip.

    John,

The jumper on the drives are default no jumper, following the manual “no jumper 3.0GBps, with jumper 1,5GBps”.
